2. My thoughts about Wikipedia
sometimes trust Wikipedia. However, I trust not always it because whoever can write some articles in this homepage.　I think almost people who write articles are not wrong.　So, I want to trust Wikipedia.

3. Themes of the Whale Rider
I think the themes of “Whale Rider” are these three things.
Love: I thought this movie includes love of between Family and daughter.
The daughter loves her grandfather. However the grandfather treats her very coldly.
I thought the grandfather loves her actually.
Tradition: There are a lot of scene in this movie which includes tradition of Maori.
You can not only enjoy this story but also learn about culture or tradition of Maori.

4. Impressions of the movie
There are three my impressions.
First, I thought landscape was very beautiful. I admired this landscape. I especially like magnificent ocean.
Second, I was impressed by characters. They are draw us into the story. I think this movie express various personality of them.
Third, I impressed about the story. Beginning of this story is very peace.
However, halfway of the story, grandfather treated his grandchild very coldly. I’ m interested in this story. I wanted to see the movie again.

5. I searched about New Zealand.
New Zealand is called "Aotearoa" by maori.It means that The Land of the Long White Cloud.
New Zealand is also called "kiwi". Kiwi is a bird which lives in this country.
Maori tribe lives there.

聖火の元々の起源を辿ってみると、
行き着いた先は古代ギリシアの時代でした。
ギリシア神話にてプロメテウスという神が
ゼウス(雷を司る神)から火を奪い、人間に伝え
古代オリンピックにて灯されていたことが起源とされています。
近代オリンピックの聖火は1928年のアムステルダムオリンピックにて
再び導入されたそうです。
また現在受け継がれている聖火は1936年のベルリンオリンピックにて
灯されていたとされています。

ベルリンオリンピックまでの過程では、ナチスの人々により、
首都まで壮大な演出が計画されていたそうです。
リレー自体は「第三帝国」組織力と能力をアピールするためでした。
しかしこれにはもう一つ理由があり、
本当の目的としてはオリンピアとベルリンを結び、
アーリア人(ユーラシア中央部出身者の人で、
主にインド・ヨーロッパ語族でインド・イラン語派に属する言葉を話す人々 )
が古代ギリシア人の「直系の子孫」だということを印象付けるため
だと言われています。
当時は遺跡発掘により古代ギリシャが西欧文明の発祥の地として脚光を浴びていたそうです。
ヒトラーにとってこの事がアーリア人の優位さを証明する絶好の機会でした。

聖火の元々の起源と言われると、古代ギリシアという大昔の時代に遡るわけですが
現在の聖火の起源は1936年という短い歴史であることが分かりました。
昔から火が受け継がれていたわけではなく
現在のものは、かつて残虐な罪を犯した者から導入されていました。
私としては複雑な気分になります(笑)。

ペリカン文書。

ジュリアロバーツが演じる法を学ぶ女子学生が主人公の物語です。
ある夜に2人の裁判官が暗殺されるという事件が起こります。
この事件が騒ぎ立てられるようになった頃、この女の子の書いた
レポートが注目を浴びることに。
そのレポートは『ペリカン文書』と名づけられ、政府までも驚かせることになります。
やがて彼女は何者かに狙われていると気づき、ジャーナリストを味方につけ、
自分を狙っている者と戦います。
女子学生とジャーナリストを綺麗に映し出したサスペンスです。

この映画を観て、私が学んだことは
自分の些細な発言でも、周りに大きな影響を与えることもあるのだという事です。
ごく普通の女子学生の書いたレポートが政府を震撼させる。
情報の伝達の凄さを知りました。
瞬く間に広がり、またその情報に関わった人に影響を与える。
自分の発言や発表には責任を持とうと思いました。
